Vaal Streams is primarily a fly-fishing resort located on the Vaal River, although other types of fishing (bait, spinning etc.) can also be done in demarcated areas. The   number of anglers are controlled on any given day to prevent congestion and over-fishing.

Guests in the Main House, Cottages, Campers and Day Visitors  enjoy preferential and priority use of the river for angling purposes and don't pay extra for fishing.

However Guests in the Dormitory need to please make special arrangements with management to fish, and such permission will be considered and may be granted depending on congestion and number of anglers on the day.

As members of FOSAF, Vaal Streams  is environmentally  responsible and practices a strict policy of catch-and-release. Fish species include indigenous and protected Yellow Fish (Largemouth and Smallmouth), Carp, Barbel, Mudfish, Moggel and Bass.

Note: Guests and Visitors are cautioned not to trespass on neighboring properties and to respect our neighbour's privacy.

RATES:

Fly Fishing: 

• R50 per vehicle
• R50 per person per day

Bait, Spinner Fishing - (In demarcated areas only)

• R50 per vehicle
• R50 per person per day

Fly Fishing Clinics, Guiding:

• Beginner, intermediate and advanced fly fishing clinics and fly fishing guiding are available throughout the year. These clinics and guiding excursions are organised in conjunction with highly experienced and specialised instructors. Prices on application depending on requirements and number of participants.
