Important notes about Vaal Streams Accommodation

Reservations are secured on a first-deposit-paid-first-confirmed basis.

As this is a particularly busy period may we suggest that to avoid disappointment, confirmation of reservation needs to be provided soonest please and secured by transfer of a deposit calculated on 50% of the total accommodation price. Please email us proof of payment. Payments must reflect in our bank account before arrival and check-in. Payments from banks other than Standard and ABSA banks may take 2-3 working days to reflect in our account.

The rates are exclusive of bedding. If you prefer Vaal Streams to provide bedding, please include it in the quotation value or alternatively advise us at least 2 days before arrival - this is available @ an once-off R50 per person for the duration of your stay, which will be changed every 3rd day.

As a self-catering resort Vaal Streams regrettably does not provide towels.

Housekeeping and Maid Services fees will be applicable as a standard extra for Bachelor Parties and large groups and functions - which fees will be additional to the relevant accommodation units or entertainment facilities booked.

A refundable remote, key and breakages deposit of R1,000 is payable on check-in for River Lodge and Fish Eagle Dormitory respectively, and R500 each for the Cottages, Ox Wagons, camping and function facilities.

Unfortunately we don’t have credit card facilities and will only be able to accept cash on check-in, or bank transfers prior to arrival.

A small Tuck Shop is available for the convenience of Guests, Campers and Day Visitors where items can be purchased including basic food commodities and groceries e.g. ice, fresh bread, milk, braai packs, sweets, cool drinks, tinned foods, sauces and condiments, toiletries, and wood, charcoal, cigarettes, cell phone airtime, fly-fishing flies, fishing tackle, etc. The Tuck Shop open hours are limited between 08h00-08h30, 12h30-13h00, 15h30-16h00 and 19h00-19h30 daily.

All reservations and entry to Vaal Streams premises are subject to acceptance of our standard terms and conditions inclusive of our cancellation policy as published on our website and included in the document titled 'INDEMNITY and DISCLAIMER FORM plus NOTICES RULES etc. 27 November 2011 v1.doc.' Particular attention is drawn to the rules on loud music restrictions. Music played from vehicle car sound systems or other sound equipment brought onto the Vaal Streams premises by Guests, Campers and Day Visitors are not permissible. The Indemnity and Rules Form must please be signed and completed by all Guests, Campers and Day Visitors. To expedite and minimize check-in delays, this can be done upfront and the signed forms (signature page only) can be emailed to Vaal Streams at info@vaalstreams.co.za , or these can be completed and signed on check-in.

Check-in and Check-out:

• On entry to Vaal Streams, all Guests, Campers and Day Visitors must please directly proceed to the designated 'Parking' zones and report to Reception Desk first before proceeding to the camping grounds or river, or to their respective accommodation units.
• The normal accommodation check-in time for Guests is at or after 14h00 on the day of arrival and check-out is not later than 10h00 on the day of departure. Day Visitor rates will be applicable for early check-ins before 14h00 or late check-outs after 10h00.
• Camper’s check-in time is after 07h30 and check-out time is not later than 10h00 on the day of departure. Day Visitor rates will be applicable for late check-outs after 10h00.
• Day Visitor’s check-in time is after 08h00 and check-out is not later than 18h00 on the same day.
• Guests, Campers and Day Visitors are not permitted to sleep-over in vehicles.
• Note please our gates and Reception close at 18h00 daily and regrettably no check-in can be done after 18h00, unless specific prior arrangements have been made for late arrivals. If no prior arrangements have been made, an additional surcharge of R180 will be applicable for every check-in of late-comers after Reception has closed.

As this is an eco resort, we have game and other animals on our property. Guests, Campers and Day Visitors are requested to please ensure that when moving though any motor or pedestrian gates that all gates are kept closed and latched.
