Dormitory - R180 per person per night (50 sleeper) - minimum of 5 guests

CAMPING AND DAY VISITORS

Vaal Streams  provides competitively priced Camping and Day Visitor options set in peaceful and tranquil surroundings with views of the river in the valley below. The river frontage and beautiful garden is ideal for camping and picnics for Day Visitors.

Day Visitors -  Check-In  07:00 AM   Check-Out  18:00 PM

• R50 per vehicle - once-off entry fee.
• R50 per person - once-off entry fee.
• Children under 5 years no charge - all other age groups @ full rate.
• Day Visitors do not pay extra for fishing.

Camping and Caravans  - Check-In  07:00 AM  Check-Out  10:00 AM

• R50 per vehicle - once-off entry fee
• R50 per person - once-off entry fee
• Children under 5 years no charge - all other age groups @ full rate.
• Campers do not pay extra for fishing.
• R150 per  campsite per night.

There are  three camping areas - the first at the river edge, the second is at the caravan stands located about midway between the main buildings and the river about 80m away from the water's edge, and the  third is located adjacent to the main gardens a short walk  of about 150m away from the river and close to the  Dormitory  and ablutions near the swimming pool and tuck shop.  All camping areas have  power points  and limited lighting. (Campers and caravaners  need to bring  own extension cables and extra lights if required)  

Note, Vaal Streams cannot guarantee reservation of specific camping sites or availability of any of the three camping areas as these are taken on a first-come-first-served basis as campers check-in.   Weather permitting, the river edge camping area can normally accommodate about 8-10 tents but because of the close proximity to the water edge, may not be available during heavy rainfalls or when the river levels rise. In this event Vaal Streams cannot refund deposits paid - campers then have the option to choose an alternative camping site or should campers wish to not check-in on rainy days or when the river is in flood, such deposits paid will stand-over until alternative dates can be arranged depending on availability.

EXTRAS:

• 25m Electric extension cables @ R30 per day
• A limited number of chairs, umbrellas and gazebos are available for hire, prices on application starting from R25-R50 per day upwards depending on size and quantity.
• A limited number of tents are available for hire - prices on application starting from R50 per night for a two-man tent.
• Sleeping bags @ R50 per person once-off fee for  full duration of stay.  
• Laundry and ironing @ R80 per load.
• Car wash @ R40 per car, R60 per bakkie or mini-bus, R80 per caravan.

Entertainment and Cooking Areas

We have several separate function and entertainment facilities for private hire at daily rates, including:-

• "Metsi" Boma & Pergola, a tiled entertainment and fire pit  facility on  the river edge with double-braai which includes lighting and plug points with seating for 30-40 plus guests - see Rates page.
• "Phanzi" Boma & Lapa, a sunken amphitheatre type entertainment facility with braai and  food preparation  counter space, gas cooker, prep bowl, which includes lighting and plug points etc. This sunken boma has seating capacity for 100 plus guests - see Rates page. (Note, if "River Lodge" is booked at R2,200 per night, this Lapa and sunken boma is included in the rate)
• "Phezulu" Lapa & Boma, a large thatch Lapa  entertainment facility with double braai and  food preparation  counter space, gas cooker, prep/wash-up sinks, with seating capacity for 60-80 plus visitors, which includes lighting and plug points etc. - see Rates page.
• "Difateng" Boma & Braai, an open air entertainment  facility under trees  with double braai and  food preparation  counter space, gas cooker, prep/wash-up sinks, with seating capacity for 70 plus guests which includes lighting and plug points - see Rates page.
